It is the p i o n e e r and only m e d i c a l c o l l e g e in t h e U n i t e d States that has adopted and s u c c e s s f u l l y carried f o r ward what is known as the " c o - o p e r a tive plan of e d u c a t i o n , " made f a m o u s by the S c h o o l of E n g i n e e r i n g of the U n i v e r s i t y of Cincinnati and A n l i o c h C o l l e g e , Ohio. In a way this plan is a revival of the old' "preceptor method" o f medical teaching concerning w h i c h so m u c h has been said and w r i t t e n of late. T h e students, during their f r e s h m a n and s o p h o m o r e courses, are in school d u r i n g p r a c t i c a l l y the e n t i r e year. T h e y are d i v i d e d into t w o s e c t i o n s of equal size. W h i l e o n e sectlion is pursuing its m e d i c a l studies in t h e school, the m e m b e r s of the o t h e r are o b t a i n i n g a p r a c t i c a l e x p e r i e n c e in the m o r e h u m b l e duties of the healing art in hospitals, dispensaries, clinics, and physicians' offices s c a t t e r e d t h r o u g h out the state.
