Leatha to folks. 1934 Jul 5, Chiao Tou Tseng [China]. ALS, 8 pp. -- Remarks on having received their letters, written just after Elmer’s death, that morning. She is staying in Chiao Tou Tseng with Calista and Cecil, who are a real comfort to her. Relates the events of the night Elmer died – how the young workers at the clinic/hospital would not call a doctor. Speaks of how much she misses Elmer, how lonely she is without him, and how she often cries herself to sleep. Speaks of how much Elmer was liked. Does not want them to worry about her financially – she has sold their furniture and the Mission paid her both Elmer’s and her wages for June. Speaks more of how Elmer worked so hard with no help. Still doesn’t know what she wants to do.
