Leatha to parents. 1933 August 3, Kalgan, Chahar [China]. ALS, 5 pp. -- Begins the letter stating that the one o’clock whistle just blew and she should take a nap, but wants to write first, then she’ll take a sun bath and then back to the clinic. Discusses some of the patients she has seen that morning in the clinic, problems with the local help at the hospital, difficulty traveling with all the soldiers about. States Elmer is not well at all; has no pep or strength. Feels that if they don’t get help, they will have to close the hospital. Seems a pity that there aren’t any doctors in China that could help, but there are so many idle doctors in America. Brags about Elmer’s skills and how the patients adore him
